This post hits the spot for me. I joined medium yesterday for the exact same reasons mentioned here. I'm a minimalist with a little bit of OCD, so when I got my hands on WordPress I spent 4 years learning and tweaking and was never satisfied. "All I wanted was a simple blog, how did I get here?" Thankfully with all the knowledge I gained I started building WordPress sites for my clients so it wasn't all time wasted. But for a fellow minimalist blogger, this is a very comfortable (and comforting) place to be in.
